I have been a Certified Public Accountant for over 25 years. I graduated
from California State University, Fullerton with a Bachelor of Arts
degree (with honors) and Chapman University with a Masters,
Business Administration. I was employed by KPMG Peat Marwick in
Los Angeles for my first two years of accounting, for which I had direct
responsibilities for Continental Airlines and ARCO Pension Plans as
well as many small to medium sized companies both for audit and tax
preparation. Subsequently, I became Manager, Corporate Accounting
for Continental Airlines and then CFO for Ceradyne Inc., a
manufacturing company and government contractor. I arranged the
financing for a buyout from our parent company and successfully lead
a team to take Ceradyne (CRDN) public in July of 1984. I was on
Kyocera's Controller Board and was on the committee to set up the first
pension plan for Kyocera employees. In 1985, two partners and me
founded a small manufacturing firm in Vista, California which grew
from 4 employees to over 100 today with sales of over $35M. I continue
to be the chief financial consultant for BAE Systems Advanced
Ceramics, Inc.
I have been President and Treasurer of the Honorary Deputy Sheriff's
Association of San Diego and I am currently the Chairman of the
Advisory Committee.
